Blake is 8 months now...

I can hardly believe how fast the time is going...soon it will be time to plan my sweet baby boy's first birthday! I am so proud of his progress and all he has accomplished. He is now sitting - he can't get himself there quite yet, but he is sitting and he is so curious about his world around him. Most of all, I love his soul - he has the kindest little heart already. So sweet and so full of smiles and hugs. I can't capture half of those smiles on a camera because the clicking makes him too curious to even think about smiling!!

Blake had an EKG this week for small hole in his heart - my first inclination is to worry, worry, worry! But the cardiologist was reassuring and said we just need to watch how he responds to things and retest him again in a few months. I felt so relieved to know that surgery isn't imminent at this point! Blake has had some eating issues over the past couple of months and he doesn't always respond well to lots of activity or changes in altitude...so that might indicate some issues we will have to check up on later.

It isn't always easy dealing with all this stuff and I get discouraged sometimes. But I try to focus on what a sweet little guy I have! He gives me the challenges we are dealing with but he also brings me the joy. He is what keeps me going and looking at the next moment. I hope you enjoy these pictures of my sweet little angel.
Happy 8 months, Mr. Blake!!

Music Class

Yesterday Blake started a music class at the Union Colony Children's Music Academy! He had so much fun with the music and movement and watching the other children. The teacher gave the children scarves and sticks to move to the music and Blake was just fascinated! I loved watching his eyes get so round as he absorbed all these new experiences. The only thing that was a little much was when they brought out a giant drum and everyone sat around it keeping a beat. He cried over that! But after that his smile quickly returned and I knew he was enjoying this new experience.

His friend Jackson will also be going and it was so sweet to see them interacting with each other - they mostly smile at each other and occasionally bat at each other. It is great to watch!
